About Ragini Bhasin

Ragini Bhasin is a filmmaker of South Asian heritage, born and raised in India, and currently residing in Los Angeles. A graduate of Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University, she has directed films such as Wrong Bathroom, Happy Rakhi, Ghazaal, and Las Escondidas. These films have been showcased at numerous festivals worldwide, including the Oscar-qualifying Palm Springs, LA Shorts, Nashville, Los Angeles Asian Pacific, Florida, Flicker's Rhode Island International, Tirana International Film Festival, and Femme Filmmakers, where she featured alongside Olivia Wilde and Lulu Wang. Her work has also been featured in the Wrap's ShortList festival and distributed by ARTE Channel, ShortsTV, Argo Channel, and PBS.

She has received several accolades, including the Meredith Macrae Memorial Award by Women in Film (WIF), the Maya Deren Short Film Innovation Prize by Femme Filmmakers, and recognition from the BAFTA Newcomers Program (2021-2023). She is also the winner of the 2022 Julia S. Gouw Short Film Challenge and a Film Independent Project Involve Directing Fellow 2023.

Her directorial work spans multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Dari, Spanish, and Mandarin. Ragini's films tackle controversial topics and delve into the psyches of underrepresented communities, from acid attack survivors to transgender athletes.

Currently, she freelances for Jubilee Media, where she previously worked as a full-time Senior Director. Her unscripted series has garnered millions of views on Jubilee Media’s YouTube channel. She has served as a director and showrunner of branded content for major clients such as Netflix, Lionsgate, ABC, and Google.

Ragini is in the development stages of her first feature film, a romance/thriller, focusing on a couple's romantic journey as they face public scrutiny for romancing at night on the streets of New Delhi.
